Are you passionate about radio? KTCH FM and KCTY AM & FM, serving Wayne, Nebraska, and the surrounding region, are seeking a dynamic Sports/News/On-Air broadcaster to join our team. Located in the heart of northeast Nebraska—midway between Norfolk, NE, and Sioux City, IA—our stations are a trusted voice in a vibrant small-town community built on farming, small industry, and the presence of Wayne State College.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging play-by-play coverage of local high school and possibly college sports.
- Report, write, and broadcast local news stories with accuracy and professionalism.
- Shoot and edit video content for station promotions and digital platforms.
- Perform general on-air duties, including announcing and hosting as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in radio play-by-play broadcasting (sports-related experience preferred).
- Strong writing, reporting, and storytelling skills for news and features.
- Using popular software – Proficiency in shooting and editing video, audio editing, contemporary automation systems, WordPress based websites, and Microsoft office software.
- Comfortable with live announcing and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for local journalism and community engagement.
- Degree in broadcasting, journalism, communications, or related field preferred, but equivalent experience considered.
