Position: Sports/News Director
Location: Wayne, Nebraska
Stations: KTCH AM/FM & KCTY FM
Type: Full-Time
KTCH FM and KCTY AM & FM, serving Wayne, Nebraska, and the surrounding area, is hiring a full-time NEWS & SPORTS Director. The individual will gather and write local and area NEWS and SPORTS, airing Monday – Friday and posting to our website – Wayne Daily News.Com. Located in the heart of northeast Nebraska—midway between Norfolk, NE, and Sioux City, IA—our stations are a trusted voice in a vibrant small-town community built on farming, small industry, and the home of Wayne State College.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging play-by-play coverage of local high school sports.
- Report, write, and broadcast local news stories with accuracy and professionalism.
- Attend regularly scheduled public meeting (City Council, County Board and School Board).
Qualifications:
- Proven experience doing radio play-by-play, possible sports talk show.
- Strong writing, reporting, and storytelling skills for news and features.
- Using/editing WordPress based websites, and Microsoft office software.
- Passion for local journalism and community engagement.
- Degree in broadcasting, journalism, communications, or related field preferred, but equivalent experience considered.
- Must relocate to Wayne, NE
