Walnut Media, the area’s only local, family-owned media company, is looking for a dynamic, positive and organized professional to oversee the “fun and games department” at our growing company!
Job summary:
The Promotions Director will work with programming, digital and sales departments to develop and execute successful promotional campaigns; build and maintain relationships with advertisers, and promotional partners; serve as the liaison representing the company at a variety of events. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Operations and the President/CEO.
Responsibilities:
- Develop creative and innovative promotional events and campaigns.
- Represent stations brands including Boomer Radio in Omaha, Council Bluffs and Lincoln, KCRO Christian Radio, AM 590 WOW, Big Dog and Mix 105.5 in Fremont.
- Assist sales in creating revenue generating promotional opportunities
- Oversee and manage all station promotional events including major station events like BOOMSTOCK and the BOOMER SOCK HOP.
- Oversee management of station websites, including banner ads, promotions and advertising on site.
- Manage social media accounts for radio station brands in coordination with digital team
- Attend and report at weekly sales meeting
- Oversee all contest prizes and contest rules with assistance from management
- Email database maintenance and outreach strategy
- Serve as main point person and coordinator of on-location broadcast and events.
- Manage station interns
Qualifications:
- Ability to effectively operate in a very busy, and creative environment
- Familiarity with the market areas preferred but not required
- Working knowledge and understanding of Radio Programming & Sales, specifically individual formats and their target audiences
- Ability to assist in maximizing promotional revenue opportunities
- Excellent writing/editing and computer skills, including Office 365 & Canva
- Experience in promotions, marketing, radio or related industry preferred
- Understanding of digital marketing & promotion and social media platforms
- Leadership and Management skills
- Some evening and weekend availability will be necessary
- Ability to multitask and work independently and proactively
- Highly organized with a positive attitude
Education:
College education preferred, but not required
Must have valid driver’s license
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
