About Walnut Media:

Walnut Media is a locally owned and operated media company with a portfolio of six local radio stations, Performance Podcast, Boombox Entertainment, and Performance Digital—a full-service digital marketing company. Position Summary:

The Operations Manager will oversee all programming and technical operations for Walnut Media. This key leadership role is responsible for coordinating sports programming scheduling, managing a team of full- and part-time staff, and ensuring smooth workflows across departments. The Operations Manager will report directly to the President/CEO and work collaboratively with all departments to maintain the highest standards of quality for our content.

Key Responsibilities:

Programming Oversight:

Manage and oversee all on-air programming across Walnut Media’s radio stations.

Collaborate with content creators and producers to ensure programming aligns with company goals.

Technical Operations:

Supervise the technical operations team to ensure seamless broadcast and digital performance.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimize disruptions.

Compliance:

Ensuring the station adheres to all relevant FCC regulations and other legal requirements.

Sports Programming:

Develop and maintain sports programming schedules, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

Build and sustain relationships with sports organizations and partners.

Staff Management:

Recruit, train, and supervise full- and part-time staff.

Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and support.

Cross-Department Collaboration:

Work closely with sales, marketing, and digital teams to align content strategies and workflows.

Ensure projects are delivered on time and meet quality expectations.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in media operations management or a similar role.

Strong knowledge of programming, broadcast operations, and digital content management.

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions.

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Experience in sports programming and scheduling is a plus.

Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications, or a related field preferred.
