Job summary:
The Marketing and Promotions Coordinator will work with programming, digital and sales departments to develop and execute successful promotional campaigns; build and maintain relationships with advertisers, and promotional partners; serve as the liaison representing the station and its promotional opportunities and events. This position will also oversee and direct social media channels for all Walnut Media properties. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Marketing
Responsibilities:
Develop creative and innovative promotional events and campaigns.
Represent stations brands including Boomer Radio and KCRO in Omaha, Bluffs Country in Council Bluffs, Big Dog and Mix 105.5 in Fremont and Boomer Lincoln.
Assist Sales in creating revenue generating promotional opportunities
Oversee and execute all on-site station promotional events
Work closely with sales manager as well as the rest of the management team
Attend and report at weekly sales meeting
Oversee all contest prizes and contest rules with assistance from management
Email database maintenance and outreach strategy
Develop strategy and oversee social media channels for each property
Serve as main point person and coordinator of on-location broadcast and events.
Qualifications:
Ability to effectively operate in a very busy, and creative environment
Familiarity with the area helpful, but not required
Working knowledge and understanding of Radio Programming & Sales, specifically individual
formats and their target audiences
Ability to assist in maximizing promotional revenue opportunities
Excellent writing/editing and computer skills, including Power Point and Photoshop
Experience in promotions, marketing, radio or related industry preferred
Understanding of digital marketing & promotion and social media platforms
Leadership and Management skills helpful
Some evening and weekend availability will be necessary for station events and promotions
Ability to multitask and work independently and proactively
Education:
College education preferred, but not required
Must have valid driver’s license
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
