KWBE and News Channel Nebraska are seeking a high-energy storyteller to serve as the Voice of Beatrice High sports and report on local news in southeast Nebraska.
This role includes radio and TV play-by-play, daily sports and news updates, and video news reporting. It offers the opportunity to become the top source of information in a community passionate about sports and local news. You’ll call the biggest moments live and tell the stories behind them across radio, TV, and digital platforms.
Responsibilities
⁃ Radio play-by-play for Beatrice High athletics
⁃ TV play-by-play for Doane University (NAIA) football home games
⁃ Monday-Friday radio news and sports updates
⁃ Local news reporting for web, TV, and radio
⁃ Coverage of breaking news and severe weather events
⁃ Build relationships to become the trusted voice of the community
Characteristics

⁃ Strong interpersonal skills
⁃ Able to perform under deadline pressure
Qualifications:
⁃ Degree in broadcast journalism preferred
⁃ Demonstrated play-by-play experience
⁃ Ability to write at a professional level
⁃ Understanding of social media and digital platforms
⁃ Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Beatrice, Neb.
