Position Overview:
The Nebraska Rural Radio Association has a rare opening for a Farm Director/Agriculture Broadcaster. We are looking for a friendly, motivated radio talent, with an agricultural background to serve as our next Farm Director, based at KRVN in Lexington, Nebraska.
The Agriculture Broadcaster will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate agricultural news and market information to farmers, ranchers, and industry professionals across multiple platforms. Based in central Nebraska, this role requires in-office presence throughout the week and travel to cover industry events, conventions, and meetings.
The ideal candidate is a friendly, team-oriented, and motivated individual passionate about providing agricultural producers with the information they need to make informed decisions. This position involves radio broadcasting, television reporting, social media engagement, and digital content creation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Broadcasting & Reporting
- Deliver agriculture news and market updates via radio and television.
- Conduct interviews with industry experts, government officials, and newsmakers.
- Anchor and produce agriculture news segments for the Rural Radio Network.
- Content Creation & Digital Media
- Write, edit, and publish agriculture news stories for the website.
- Utilize social media to engage audiences and promote network content.
- Shoot and edit video content for online and on-air distribution.
- Industry Representation & Event Coverage
- Attend and report from local, regional, and national agricultural events.
- Represent the Rural Radio Network professionally in industry settings.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Agricultural background or education preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
