Established in 1934, the NBA is a trade association that works to advance the best interests of FCC-licensed, over the air local radio and television TV stations in the state of Nebraska. The NBA supports our member stations through advocacy, education, innovation and the celebration of local broadcasters’ efforts to better serve the people of Nebraska.
Position Overview: The Director of Member Services is responsible for developing and executing various events, communications, programs, reports and other functions to aid in providing benefits and services to NBA members. This position reports to and works in partnership with and assistance to the President/Executive Director by supporting the operational needs of the association. In addition to practical skills and experience, this position requires a strong customer focus, collaborative skills, reliability, integrity, the ability to remain calm under pressure and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Convention and event planning:
– planning and executing multiple elements of our Annual Convention
– planning and executing other events as needed
Communication:
– frequent communication to members via email, websites, social media and other means as needed
– frequent website updates to display programs, services and benefits
– preparation and distribution of quarterly member newsletter
Program administration:
– planning and executing multiple facets of member benefits, programs and services including, but not limited to: Alternative Inspections, College & High School Scholarships, Student Debt Grants and Virtual Job Fairs
Reporting & Documentation:
– preparation of invoices, posting of payments and generation of monthly reports for our accountant
– preparation and review of monthly Public Education Program (PEP) reports
Database management:
– ongoing maintenance of membership database and directory
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
– proven success in large event planning and execution
– excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
– strong attention to detail and accuracy, including proofreading
– well organized and self-motivated
– ability to multitask and work effectively under deadlines
– ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professional discretion
– advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software with emphasis on Excel, Word & Outlook
– knowledge of and experience with Canva, Constant Contact & WordPress
– experience managing social media communications
– ability to lift and move medium-weight items when needed
– rare, limited in-state travel (including overnight stays during Annual Convention)
