Summary: Nebraska Public Media, Nebraska’s NPR and PBS Stations, is seeking an Early Childhood Education Specialist who, with direction, will collaborate with early childhood educators and other subject matter experts to identify best practices, build curriculum, and discover other relevant areas to create, package and/or repurpose content to support children and families, educators, childcare professionals, and community organizations to positively impact early childhood education. On a scheduled basis, works with school districts, early childhood education providers, libraries, and community organizations to design and deliver bilingual learning events built around PBS resources.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in education or related field; equivalent experience working in education or family engagement considered. At least two years of experience in an educational environment with emphasis in child and family engagement or equivalent. Experience working bilingually in Spanish and English. Knowledge of principles, theories, practices, methods and techniques used in early childhood learning. Knowledge of current technologies and trends in early childhood education. Familiarity with the use of technology and media in learning environments. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with children and adults from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Ability to travel. Bilingual in English and Spanish with ability to translate and create bilingual education materials.
Salary: $48,000/yr. minimum
