Veteran Tri-Cities broadcaster Doug Duda was honored on October 5 in Kearney as the first recipient of an NBA Career Achievement Award.
Duda, who co-hosts the daily “Doug & Daddy Show” on ESPN Tri-Cities (KXPN – Kearney, Flood Communications), is perhaps best known for his extensive annual schedule of high school and college play by play broadcasts on radio and News Channel Nebraska. A native of Ord, Duda has earned several other industry awards over his 40-plus years on Nebraska’s airwaves.
The NBA Career Achievement Award recognizes member station personnel from any station department who have demonstrated a significant, long-term commitment to their career in Nebraska radio and/or television broadcasting. Nominees must have worked in Nebraska radio and/or television for at least 25 years.
