Broadcast Careers: TV Representative, State Emergency Communications Committee

Nominations are Being Sought for TV Rep on State EAS Committee

The Nebraska State Emergency Communications Committee (SECC) is a volunteer group which the FCC expects to exist in each state. The primary charge of the SECC is to write and maintain the state emergency alert system (EAS) Plan.  All Broadcast and Cable Systems are required by the FCC to install EAS equipment and follow the state EAS plan.

In Nebraska the committee is currently made up of nine volunteer members representing nine stake holders in the emergency alerting community.

More information is available at www.NE-EAS.org

Jim Skinner has served as the Broadcast Television Representative to the Nebraska SECC since 2010.  He is retiring from full-time employment in December and therefore is stepping down from the committee.

If you work in Broadcast TV and are interested or know of someone who may be a good fit for the state committee please contact:

Nebraska SECC Chair - Rod Zeigler at (308)324-2371 or rzeigler@krvn.com

The Nebraska SECC will meet in December 2018 and plans to discuss filling the TV Representative position at that time.
