WOWT a Gray Television station located in Omaha, Nebraska is looking for a leader in social media to take our digital presence to the next level. The Digital Content Supervisor will be tasked with making sure our website and social media platforms are informative, up to date and engaging. The Digital Content Supervisor focus will be to find new, emerging media platforms for news and promotional content, as well as manage content on all WOWT 6 News web-based and social platforms. The Digital Content Supervisor will work with and manage a team of content producers to make sure we are growing our audience and keeping them informed every day.

 

The Digital Content Supervisor’s primary focus will be to develop and expand our brand reach through emerging technologies and trends, and broaden communication with our viewers in conjunction with our on air product. Ideal candidate has an intense curiosity about the future of how viewers interact with each other, consume and engage with content, and develop loyalty to brands. They will be a strong leader, mentor, and strategist with proven project management experience. They understand the importance of emerging technologies and will be able to extend, integrate WOWT 6 News and WOWT event content within established (online, social, mobile, etc.) and emerging channels (mobile tv, apps, ect.).

 

The Digital Content Supervisor will coordinate daily content on wowt.com, the WOWT 6 News mobile app, Facebook, Twitter and all new media platforms – essential during breaking news. Research, propose and develop new and innovative emerging technologies strategies to expand upon and deliver the WOWT brand experience across all current and new platforms. Must be able to execute approved strategies from concept inception to completion. Continually build expertise with respect to industry trends and innovations.

Qualified individuals will have a bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism or related field. Prefer a candidate with a minimum of 3 years’ experience and prior news writing experience. Strong writing skills and ability to write accurately and creatively under deadline pressure. Must have extensive knowledge and experience using emerging technologies, content and digital communication methods to develop new programs and strategies. Must have social credibility and be able to work well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment; self-motivated; flexible; extremely organized; very detail-oriented; tenacious yet tactful; a strong problem solver; able to work well under pressure in order to meet project deadlines, and have a positive attitude.
