WOWT-TV is accepting resumes for a full-time EDITOR. The successful candidate must have a passion for great storytelling through video. This position is responsible for editing video for our newscasts Monday-Friday. We're looking for someone who can tell a story through video, match video to scripts, and attach video to web stories. We’re looking for someone who can supply technical support in the newsroom when needed.Primary duties will include producing and editing video content for weekday afternoon and evening newscasts.  May include additional assignments shooting and/or writing stories for newscasts and website.  He/she will have a demonstrated ability to work individually or as part of a team to produce compelling packages on deadline and the time management skills to produce news stories for WOWT.


Candidates should have experience with non-linear editing, run live shots using TVU; shoot reporter live shots and shoot breaking news. Duties of this job include creative shooting, writing, editing and posting of news stories, both hard news and features. Must have good writing skills and must be able to work well under strict deadline pressure.  Gather news through excellent video; sometimes paired with reporters. Must be able to work individually or as member of a team.


The successful applicant’s background must include, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Broadcast Journalism or a related field.  He/she must be a self-starter, with knowledge of and ability to operate state-of-the-art television news.
