2020 NBA ANNUAL CONVENTION CANCELED

2020 NBA ANNUAL CONVENTION CANCELED

April 22, 2020

Dear NBA Members and Sponsors,

Of all of the things I thought I might do in my year as Chairman of the NBA Board of Directors, never would I have imagined I’d be informing you that my fellow Executive Committee members and I have made the painful but prudent decision to cancel our 2020 Annual Convention

You all understand the reasons why.  The health of our members, sponsors, speakers, guests and the hotel staff who would serve us comes first.  All of the aforementioned are dealing with varying degrees of financial distress.  As for the convention’s schedule of events, there are simply too many moving parts amidst too much uncertainty to attempt rescheduling it for later this year.

Our 2020 Pinnacle Awards competition will go on with the changes we recently announced.  And our 2020 Hall of Fame class of Sharon Behl Brooks, Bill Milldyke and Todd-N-Tyler…will become our 2021 Hall of Fame class.  The NBA’s 2021 convention is already confirmed for August 10 & 11 at the Embassy Suites in La Vista.

NBA President/Executive Director Jim Timm will keep you informed on the 2020 Pinnacle Awards deadlines.  Feel free to contact him with any convention questions at jim@ne-ba.org

Thank you for your understanding, your support, and your membership in the NBA.  We’re all dealing with unprecedented circumstances, and I am proud to call myself a Nebraska broadcaster as I see the way our members have responded to this pandemic.

Take care of yourself, your loved ones and your teammates.  The NBA is here for you.

Sincerely,

Graig Kinzie

NBA Board Chairman
