Weekend Anchor/Reporter


Local4 (KSNB) is accepting applications for Weekend Anchor/Reporter for newscasts in our Hastings, NE, newsroom. The Weekend Anchor/Reporter is responsible for producing and anchoring our weekend newscasts and working as a reporter/mmj three days during the week.


KSNB-TV, Local4, Hastings, Nebraska, is looking for the next person to lead our weekend news coverage.  You will produce and anchor our weekend evening newscasts and coordinate efforts of our weekend reporter/mmj’s.  You will also gather, shoot, write, edit, and front news stories for our broadcast and digital platforms three days out of the week.


We need people on our team who have a passion for learning about our community and our audience and who authentically demonstrate that passion on the air, on-line and especially in person. Our audience embraces our talent because we show them that we care.  On-air experience at a professional news station, a college degree or equivalent job experience in a journalism related field, are desired.

We’re also looking for the ability to communicate live in a professional manner, for our media channels. The ability to type and operate newsroom computers and other news gathering equipment in an above average capacity, excellent people skills when dealing with coworkers and the public. are requirements.  Strong organizational skills are necessary. Position would require permanent residence in Hastings or Grand Island, Nebraska

The right candidate will be a proven leader in the newsroom. We need someone who’s a positive influence for those around them, and thrives in a competitive, but fun environment.

Familiarity with iNews, Sony ENG, Avid, TVU, and ARC Publishing a plus.

Must have valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record. Employment is contingent on successfully passing drug screen and driving record check.


• Produce and anchor local weekend newscasts

• Enterprise, shoot, edit, and report compelling

• Execute all aspects of storytelling, scheduling shoots and interviews, shooting video, writing scripts, editing, and going live as needed

• Be a multi-platform storyteller, with regular posts to social media and the station’s website and news apps

• Meet tight daily deadlines

• Respond urgently and appropriately to breaking and developing news
