Weekday Evening Meteorologist
KNOP-TV, the NBC affiliate in North Platte, NE, is looking for an experienced meteorologist for our dominant evening newscasts.
We’re looking for someone who knows how to connect with our viewers in fresh, new ways. This includes producing and anchoring weathercasts, severe weather coverage, webcasts, working in a multi-platform environment and contributing daily to our digital platforms. The successful candidate should embrace weather and know how to use creative graphics to tell weather stories in every weathercast. The person we hire must be an ambassador for the station by making personal appearances at community events.
• Produce and Present weather information on-air in evening newscasts
• Provide comprehensive weather coverage during severe weather events
• Produce content for the station’s web page and social media outlets
• A consistent track record of meeting deadlines
• Familiar with producing and video editing
• Effective live on-air communicator
• A four-year degree in journalism or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Familiarity with ENPS, Avid, TVU, ARC Publishing, Sony ENG, Social Media a plus
