WOWT Evening Anchor

WOWT is accepting applications for a full-time Evening Anchor.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

WOWT, has an immediate opening for an experienced News Anchor for our Monday – Friday evening newscasts. The ideal candidate has a passion for broadcast journalism and will deliver the news in an engaging, energetic manner. This candidate will also report for our 10pm newscast, Monday – Friday.  WOWT is looking for a candidate who will make a positive contribution in the newsroom and community as a whole. Other duties as assigned.

Candidates should have at least three years’ experience as a newscast anchor and/or reporter for a broadcast news station or news website. He/she must be a self-starter, with knowledge of and ability to operate state-of-the-art television news equipment as well as website publishing. Ability to work under intense studio lighting and to work at a computer for long periods of time. 

Qualifications:

The successful applicant’s background must include, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field.  He/she must be a self-starter, with knowledge of and ability to operate state-of-the-art television news equipment as well as website publishing. Ability to work under intense studio lighting and to work at a computer for long periods of time.  Ability to shoot and edit is preferred.
