KOLN-TV, the news leader in the Lincoln/Hastings/Grand Island market, is looking for a Sports Anchor/MMJ to join the team. The position will include regular anchoring, and the generation of compelling sports content daily.


If you’re interested in this job, we know you probably have a passion for sports. But we want someone who has passion for the local communities who rally around their teams, and for stories that go beyond just ‘highlights’.


Your schedule must be flexible for this position, as your reporting schedule will vary depending on the season. Anchoring weekend newscasts and filling in will also likely be a part of the position.


You must be an effective storyteller, with an eye for local sports stories that others may miss. You must be a strong shooter and editor. You must thrive on opportunities to report live in the field.


The right candidate will be a proven leader in the newsroom. We need someone who’s a positive influence for those around them, and thrives in a competitive, but fun environment.


Connection with the viewers of Nebraska is key. You’ll need to be involved and visible at station and community projects, and active on social media.


Familiarity with iNews, Sony ENG, Avid, TVU, and Clickability a plus.


Must have valid Drivers License with good driving record. Employment is contingent on successfully passing drug screen and driving record check.
